miss kayla

Like i said in my last post, it has been so much fun to celebrate with all these seniors graduating from high school and talking about college and all that... but I've also had a few seniors from college, too! Or in this case, nursing school.

Yep, that's right. Kayla is going to bless Lubbock with her crazy good nursing skills, and I know her patients will be healthier and happier all because of her.

Here are some favs from our session... and be looking for her little bro's session, too! That's coming up this week :)

amber the aggie

Don't worry... I still love her :)

I kid I kid. This girl is going to go far in life and if that means A&M is going to help her get there, then I'm all for it.
Ya know, one of the things I enjoy most about senior sessions is just getting to talk to these peeps... I mean, what an exciting time in life! I really cherish the time Amber and I shared - talking about life, Jesus, college, future plans bla bla bla. It's pretty awesome. Just another perk to doing this thing I love.

PS. Amber has the blue-est eyes I've ever seen.

matt and i had a good time playing in the sunshine. of course we had to find something that simulated a body of water since matt belongs in cali and all :)

we go way back. he even claims to be the son of jordan and i (which isn't possible, if you're wondering), and we joyfully accept that title, even when he comes over and cleans out our pantry. i'm pretty stoked matt is going to stick around and go to Tech for college because I don't think I'm ready to let this kiddo go!

here are some highlights from the session.

an entertaining afternoon with phil

I can't believe Phil is already graduating! I feel like I've known him and his fam forever... I used to be a youth intern and I guess when you're surrounded by spam + banana, ADDx100 and silent football, bonds form quickly :)
Well, as I was getting ready to post some of his senior photos, I started reminiscing and thinking of the old days... so here are a couple from high school camp at Noah's Ark a couple years ago. Which was amazing, by the way... And totally worth minimal showerage and "outdoor bathrooms." mmmmmmmm

after i chase this rabbit trail, we'll get to the senior photos.

here's phil looking totally outdoorsy and rugged.
backpacking is fun.

freelancin' fun

So there's a magazine coming out in late April called "Lubbock Magazine." It's all about peeps living in west texas... homes, gardens, fashion, health and it goes on and on. Well let me just tell you that I've had the privilege to be a little freelancing machine, shooting everything from veggie steamers to george strait and I'm loving every minute of it!
It really is fascinating what a camera can allow you to do... Not only is it documenting people and things in their own little worlds, but it's getting to be a part of those little worlds while it's all going on!! With all that said, here some photos from two of my favorite projects... I'll spare you all the veggie steamer :)

this photo has now convinced me that if jordan and i have some little strebeck boys running around someday, they must have spurs with their names on them... precious!
