All of you Lubbockites know what the weather was like yesterday. COLD and WINDY. And just gross. I had a couple of cancellations, and then got a call from a sweet mom-to-be telling me that she'll probably be having her baby sooner than they thought, so our session in December just might not happen... "Well..." I said, "We can go this morning if you're up for the freeeeeeeeeeezing bitter wind and all..." She was up for it!
So me and this precious woman went around town and she just showed that Lubbock wind who's boss. Boo ya.
aaaand the one that best demonstrates our morning...
I worked for Brandon for a short time in the midst of a youth pastor switcharoo, and it's been fun to get to know his family over the years. I shot a wedding this summer where Alex was the flower girl, so I went into this session knowing that she is a ham and a half! I love it.
Janae and I decided to do one more round of photos before little (rather, big) Isaiah comes just in time for Thanksgiving! Yep, Tuesday is the day, folks. And just think, every one of you can tell Isaiah, "I saw pictures of you before you were even born!" yuk yuk yuk.
Anyhow, I'll go ahead and warn all of you about this first photo. I guess this is what happens when your best friend is snapping photos while you're overcome with joy thinking about being an aunt... This might also explain why we're best friends :)
I love random connections. Most of my random connections in life are because of Starbucks and the regulars that I love oh so much. Greg and Teri come in every night for their Americano and right about the time I started getting to know them, I found out that they had been attending Redeemer, the church Jordan and I go to. It's just cool to see how they went from a Starbucks customer to a friendly face, and now they've become a family we look up to and are encouraged by. I love it. Oh, and now Greg is our eye doc, too :)
These two... I tell you what. I have never seen a couple made more perfectly for each other. And boy did they flirt it up - it was awesome. There were even some moments where I started thinking... wait, I don't think they know I'm still here. These two get so wrapped up in each other and truly enjoy and cherish one another's company. It's beautiful!
Anyhow, what really makes this special is that Micah and I have been meeting up every couple weeks and going through a book called, "Feminine Appeal". It's an amazing book that every woman should read, and it has been a huge encouragement to study through it with Micah as she gets so excited about being a wife, and as I'm reminded what this whole wifey thing is about. So, not only do I get to travel this journey with Micah and Wally over coffee, I get to take pictures of the whole darn thing. :)
Blog family, meet the Barnes family - one of the most precious families I know. Jordan and I go to Redeemer with these peeps and I've always been super encouraged by them. This fam has taught me a lot about giving... they give give give and they do it because they love Jesus. It's refreshing.
Anyhow, we had a lovely morning playing in their backyard and rolling around in the leaves - talk about a beautiful fall day!
Ps. I'm still taking family sessions for Christmas cards, so feel free to contact me if you're interested!
