The Bridge

Within the past few months, I've realized how important being intentional is. I feel like I've always tried to be intentional with relationships I've had, but it wasn't until recently when I realized God can do big things when we become intentional with everything.

Here's what I'm getting at. When I started considering the possibilities of what it is I can really do with photography, a friend at The Bridge contacted me about coming to shoot some events they have going on. Uhhh YES PLEASE! We also did some headshots/fun pictures to spice up their website and facebook page, because we all know that pictures make everything better, right?

Plus, I love The Bridge. When I was a youth intern at Southcrest back in the day, we always took our youth kiddos out there and helped out in the soup kitchen and organized clothes and whatnot. If you're ever looking for a place to volunteer, check them out!

Without further ado, here are the lovely ladies of The Bridge!

aww yiaa!!

Drake

He's been riding since he was three. THREE YEARS OLD!! His mom showed me a little picture of 3-year-old Drake on his itty bitty dirtbike and I think I almost cried it was so cute.

Shooting a senior with a dirtbike was definitely a first, but it was so much fun, and I even got a little ride out of the deal! Drake will probably be famous someday, so I'll hold on to that one :)

We took a couple normal ones before he got all suited up.

woohooo!

mitchell FINALLY let me take some of him... it wasn't easy :)

Ashley

Ever heard of The Bachelor?

That's a silly question... Of COURSE you've heard of The Bachelor. And this pretty lady is in the runnings to be ON The Bachelor. Cool, huh?

She's got it made, with her spunky, fun-loving, GORGEOUS self.

Ellie

This little cutie is a SENIOR. I just can't believe it. And this is why... I started as a youth intern at Southcrest while I was in college, and Ellie was in 7th grade.

Yes, so this is weird.

I mean, not only is she about to go to college, but that means I'm getting older too... Yikes. Okay, but aside from my mini counseling session y'all just witnessed, here is this precious young lady.

walkin down memory lane

A couple days ago, I got a call from a friend who had a simple request. Well, one of her coworkers was in need of a last minute photo session before her son moved to San Antonio for a new job and her daughter went back to Dallas for summer school. Let's just say that the more time I spent with them, the more precious this whole situation got!

So, 15 years ago, these kiddos had their picture taken by Ken Porter at the same park, and their adorable mom wanted to capture the same moment. She was so cute with her props and old photos, just to make everything the exact same. After we attempted to relive that peaceful moment by the "lake," we just had some fun. The best part about it is that these photos are going to be a father's day present... how sweet is that.

Anyhow, now you have the background, so enjoy!

a mini reunion!

we reminisced about the old days during our mini-session... it kinda made me feel old, but it made me happy, too... being reminded of all these random connections and good times.

kendall and i met freshman year through mutual friends - we ended up being astronomy/spanish class buddies and good ol pals... and many practical jokes and pranks later, we still manage to be friends :) and lindsey and i met freshman year also, when we tried to start a womens outreach organization (which didn't so much work out...but we tried, right?) and then i met lauren through my hottie husbo, JO-dan. i tell you what! and now, 4 years later, i get to have them all in one place at one time - what a deal.

so NOW, lindsey and kendall are sooo married (almost 2 years!) and lauren is about to graduate from tech... and they all decided to be superstar children and give their moms some sweet photos for mothers day. how special, huh?

anyhow, with all that said, here are some of my favs.

'laynie dongle' came to town

... and i'm allowed to say that because he is my brother-in-law :)

Layne is not only Jordan's youngest brother, but a soon-to-be Red Raider! That's right folks. He's coming to Tech in the fall and I'm stoked. It'll be fun living so close to family. I mean, I know he'll be pretty occupied being the big man on campus and all, but casa de strebeck is always abierto. That means open in spanish. Enough of that, here are some photos!
