Who knew Jordan was such a photographer? Yep, he most definitely took these photos and I think they're so wonderful! He made a trip to Clovis earlier this week and got all artsy on me :) And I thought it would be a good chance to brag on my hubby AND show of our precious niece and nephews. Enjoy!

two years!

That's right, blogworld. Jordan and I have been married for a whole TWO years! I'm not going to write a novel or anything, but I just wanted to share that :) All I know is that I have the most loving, God-honoring and hilarious husband, and these past two years have been the best. And he's a fox.

Where I've been....

South Dakota! That's where.

We grew up having HUGE family reunions every summer - we even had t-shirts custom designed each year :) Well, once my grandpa passed away, it seemed like it got harder to round everyone up each summer, so the reunions kinda fizzled away.

Well, I'm glad someone finally put their foot down, because I think last weekend was a reminder to all of us that we have a dang cool family who needs to see each other more often! Over 50 peeps got to come and our days were filled with games, no cell phone service and lots and lots of fireworks. I think we all wished it could have lasted longer!

Here are some highlights from our trip to the farm.

Meet Deuce.

First off, my husband is the BEST!!! He has planned this surprise for who knows how long, and it finally happened over the weekend. He drove me all the way to Groveton, TX (about 10 hours away from Lubbock), and while at first I was convinced we might come home with a puppy, Jordan had told me enough lies to where I thought we were going to a little bed and breakfast.

Well, here I am blindfolded, the door opens, and a little ball of fluff was dropped into my hands! YESSS!!!!

After about an hour of playing with eight of the cutest puppies I've ever seen, we found our match.

And after about three hours of riding back to Lubbock, we decided on a name.

Huckleberry Augustus McLovin II. AKA Deuce.

We got him from Nine Pines, and they are absolutely wonderful there!

Where I've been the past 5 days...

Kentucky!

First off, I've never been to Kentucky - only driven through, so that doesn't count. My goodness, it's gorgeous! Rolling hills, covered in greeeeen green grass, with perfect little fences all around. Just beautiful.

What was even better was the fact that we got a good three solid days in with Ryan, Amberly, Morgan and Athan (Ryan is Jordan's oldest brother). We did a lot of relaxing and catching up, and it was so great to finally see where these guys have been living for the past few years.

Photog Phun

I love how business and fun and friends all overlaps beautifully in photography. A few of us photogs went out and flirted it up for each other last night.

For those of you who don't know, I'm not a huge fan of being on the other side of the lens (unless I'm with a hunk like my husbo), so I was a bit hesitant on this outing. Well, turns out it was a blast and it's really not THAT scary. Needless to say, I think it'll help me with those clients who share my discomfort :)

happy birthday, pops.

It's my dad's birthday today. I wish I could be up in Oklahoma (never thought i'd say that...) to celebrate with him, but since I'm not, how about I use the ol blog world to bridge that distance, eh?

My dad is hilarious. And smart and cheesy and wise and gray. I blame him for a lot, really. My ridiculous jokes, "punny" humor, my insatiable desire to play pranks on anyone at any time... It's his fault.

I think he's getting funnier with age, and maybe more sensitive and thoughtful, too. Or maybe I'm just growing up and I can actually see him as more than my dad. I've seen him be the best brother, uncle, father-in-law, husband and friend anyone could ever wish for.

Before I get too emotional here, I better stop myself and start with the photos... That's the best part anyway.

I said my dad was wise... Well, here he is. As one of the three wise men, of course :) Weird things happen when family gets together.

A couple weeks ago, Jordan and I made a day trip to Clovis for an annual get together. Talk about cute kid overload!! Even though I felt like I took a lot of pictures, I still didn't capture the cuteness of every kiddo there. Good thing our fam gets together a lot :)
